As CEO of First Uranium, Deon headed up the development  of the Mine Waste Solutions Capital Project which entailed increasing monthly processing capacity to 1.8M tonnes per month and the addition of a Uranium Processing Circuit 

The Frankfurt Mine, a Gold Mine in the Pilgrimsrest area in Mpumalanga Province was constructed and commenced production in 2009 under Deon’s leadership.

The Frankfurt Mine is currently owned by the Theta Gold Mines company.
